I’m hurting and sad :-( my Grand-dad died this weekend…
He was in a lot of pain and died quickly but my heart is broken. I loved that man beyond words. I’m so thankful that I got so many good, meaningful, precious years with him. My poor Mommy is heartbroken, she said to me “my Daddy is gone”, “I don’t have my Daddy any more”, I know she is hurting, wish I could do more but I can’t; I can only be there for her. I can’t imagine uttering those words. And then there’s my Granny, whom he was married to for close to 70 plus , glorious years! She has dementia so, she keeps forgetting that he’s gone and she keeps asking for him and wanting to turn the light on or radio on for him.
I can’t… every time I think of them, I get overwhelmed… what do you do when your first love, the love of your life, soul mate, your life is gone and you don’t remember that he ever left?
This is going to be a hard one.
